Kathy Puls

Katherine S. Puls was certified by the American College of Nurse Midwives in 1971 and has been “catching” babies ever since, stopping only when she had her own two children. Kathy was the 528th nurse midwife certified in the United States; this number has since grown to over 10,000.

Kathy has taught nurse midwifery for the University of Illinois College of Nursing, nursing for Harper College, and postgraduate perinatal nursing courses for the University of Arizona College of Nursing. She has been assistant director of nursing for obstetrics, gynecology, and neonatology at the University of Arizona Medical Center.

She has a bachelor's degree in nursing from Minnesota State University — Mankato and a master’s degree in maternal and newborn nursing from the University of Utah.
